And in the Future
BeWellPBC is working alongside behavioral health professionals, education and community stewards, and students to grow and meet Palm Beach County’s workforce needs now, and in the future. Together we are fostering inclusion, diversity, and youth advocacy to build a more equitable workforce with the supports they need for their own health and wellness.
BeWellPBC Efforts in Motion

Partnering for the Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Curriculum
BeWellPBC is partnering with the Allied Health and Behavioral and Mental Health Departments within The School District of Palm Beach County, the Florida Certification Board, and various community partners to develop the front-end of the workforce pipeline for high school-aged youth. Efforts include a behavioral health curriculum for The School District medical academies and a new state behavioral health certification attainable by high school graduates.
BeWellPBC is working alongside local providers to support community experiences for students to learn beyond academics:
- Internships for students to gain practical knowledge
- Co-instruction in the classrooms in partnership with local behavioral health providers
- Scholarships to provide students with career and college support
- Opportunities for 8th grade “feeder” school classes to learn more about the BHT medical academy

Mental Health for You(th)
With support from Palm Beach County Behavioral Health Coalition and in partnership with Alpert Jewish Family Service, BeWellPBC is working with Palm Beach County youth to provide teen-to-teen behavioral health training. From inception to implementation, youth directed the project and now provide a 1-hour training led by youth trainers and offered to groups serving teens across the county.
